Pictures from the farm Part 1--- Getting some work done

This will be several parts since I have over 150 pictures.
I had a blessed time working there and I pray that others
can come to learn what I am learning, maybe even you!

I had a good time and learned a lot of things, like waking up at 4:30 a.m.
EVERYDAY and how NOT to fall off a 1/2 done second story barn.
Something else that I found very interesting was how a LOT grows there, and very easily as well.
YHVH is really getting us ready for the rough times ahead and blessing us as we go back.
And hey, maybe we'll see you down here soon too!

We left our little green house in Sabalito at 5:00 a.m. to try to get there early enough to do some work there. Here's a pic of the windmills in Sabalito that we saw as we were leaving.
BTW: If you can see the little white dots in a middle bottom of the pic, those are cows.
I am amazed by YHVH's power. Cows are BIG up close,
but in perspective to the mountain, they are but a dot.

Anyway, we got the around 4 p.m. so Mr. Jesse decided to
do some work building his road to the building site.
There is a road but it stops at the river which is before his building site.
So to finish it he was going to use a Bobcat machine to push the dirt into a drivable angle.

Here is part of the road he was doing, the part which I am going to talk about.

This road is right after the river. Here is a pic of the river.

It wasn't any fun doing it though for many reasons, like the rocks on the bottom of the hill,
the hole on the top left part of the hill, and the water around the bottom half.
Well, let's just say that made a not to good situation, and with it starting to get dark, it was even worse.

So... I just give you guys the picture and leave to your imagination what might of happened.

Basically, it was very slippery and the Bobcat slid into a hole in the river.
Good news is it wasn't very deep so it didn't damage it. We had to wait till the next day to call some people to bring their backhoe to pick it up and take it out.
Now, you need something BIG to pick this thing out.

Well....
 Yeah, it's BIG enough.
That is just the digger. It's BIG compared to the Bobcat.
Yeah... I think it could do the job, don't you??

Well, it did the job well and pulled it out without much difficulty, other then the chain breaking once.
We didn't use it anymore because we were worried about there being water in the gas and oil and falling in the water again so we went working on the barn.

Speaking of the barn, here are some pics of the barn on a day-by-day progression.

Day 1
This was the progress they had made up to when I got there. Very simple yet will be able to hold a lot of things as well as being a temporary sleeping place till we build the house.

The 4th Wall Being Built
Measuring the wall

The Wall is put up!!

My Hard Working Dirty Boots
 Day 2
We got up early and finished the 4th wall and technically the 1st story of the barn.

Finishing the Walls

A Window Hole!
Then we put the middle post that will hold the rafters in place.

After that we started putting on the rafter. But we had a problem.
They're too high and we don't have a ladder... or wait, be right back...

TaDa! A homemade, ready to use wooden ladder!

Of course, it's homemade so it isn't 'Exactly' sturdy.
Sooo...

This will work too...

I felt sorta bad for Mr. Jesse though. He sweats very easily and it was very hot.
But it couldn't be worse, right? Uh oh...

BEES!!

TONS OF BEES!! They were on him almost the whole time unless it was cloudy or had just rained.       It was kinda annoying, especially in the afternoon but he got over it.

Day 3-4

These next couple of days we did a lot of work but we didn't have the camera at the time.
But we did get a couple of pics. And here they are!

As you can see on the left, we built another ladder, this time a permanent one that
we will use to get
to the 2nd story.

On the right we have the wood that we used to make the 2nd story floor. This wood started out REALLY crooked and not the same same and it ended up not SOOO crooked and about the same size.

Mr. Jesse screwing the wood down. That is MUCH harder then it looks and the battery died on us every 1/2 an hour.

As you can tell, this is HARD wood... No seriously really HARD wood!
 Day 5-7

We finished up the 2nd story floor and put on the rafters and lads. Look at the pictures for details.
2nd Story Rafters

Finishing up the rafters

Putting on the "Laths". For people that don't know, it's the pieces of wood that go sideways.

Now this is where it gets interesting. We were going(and probably still are) going to get someone "professional" to put the roof on but Mr. Jesse and my dad decided to see how hard it was to do it.
Let's just say it wasn't easy and it's kinda high up so we didn't do very
much work on it and left it till next time we come back.
"Trying" to put the roof on...

I did have a good time, working with my hands on my future temporary sleeping place and knowing that this may be my home till Messiah comes back.
I know I have to undergo a LOT of changes before I am even partly
prepared for this(like waking up at 4:30 a.m.), but I know that YHVH is in control.
Pray for us that we get the barn done and get the house built soon.
 Blessings!

Shalom!
