LchaimPuraVida: Going Back to Blogspot

Shalom to all! We have decided to go back to using our old Blogspot page...
Unfortunately, we did not use the website the way we needed to,
combined with a rash of popups and ads that we tried to get cleaned but unfortunately
couldn't get figured out, and over time it became pretty much unused.
Being no longer worth the cost of upkeep, we are coming back to Blogspot,
and are planning on getting back into writing, taking plenty of pictures,
and sharing about the path that YHWH has put us on.

There are a lot of things that are needing to be updated and changed
on this Blogspot website, seeing as it hasn't been used in a while,
so please bear with us as we make those changes. If there are any suggestions you have or posts you would like to see, please do so, really any ideas you have would be welcome :).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
James 1:27
Clean and undefiled religion before the Elohim and Father is this:
to visit orphans and widows in their affliction,
and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

While we are making these needed changes, the mission to help the Poor, Widows, and Orphans continues on. We currently have Tia Carmen, a widow from Nicaragua who has stayed
with us in the past, with us here on the mountain, which has been a tremendous blessing
for both her and us during these difficult and scary times. We are also continuing to help
with the families and the congregation in Bataan, particularly in this time when it is
much more difficult to find work and/or look for ways to be able to support their families financially.
Remember them and us in your prayers.

If you desire to bless others as YHWH is using us, please consider our ministry
in your prayers and offerings by clicking on the donation button below.
May YHWH Bless you for your gift!

Pesach and Unleavened Bread

Shalom family in Messiah! Pray that you had a blessed Pesach and Unleavened Bread.
Sorry I haven't done any blog posts, been a little busy.

Anyway, we are back at the farm and I just wanted
to show you some of the things we did in Filadelfia.
That is where we went for Pesach, and we had a blessed time there surrounded by brotherly love.

Here is a video with some of what was going on that week.

Here it is!

Panama Trip March 2012

Shalom brothers and sisters in Messiah! Hope you have a blessed Pesach.
So sorry I have not been blogging, our computer broke
and then we went to Panama where there isn't wireless internet.
Now we are Filadelfia celebrating Pesach with some of the brothers in Costa Rica.

Here is some pics and a video from Panama.
Decided to make it into one video so that there weren't 5 parts. :)
This is the 1st time I have done this so let me know how it looks
so that I can know if I should do it like this again.

Anyway, on to the video!

From Filadelfia, Costa Rica...

Have a blessed Pesach/Shabbat!

The land of Brotherly Love! Part 3 of ? A trip to the Beach

Heb 13:1
Let brotherly love(Philadelphia) continue.

Shalom brothers and sisters in Messiah!
I know it's winter in the states, but it's very warm here.
Soooo.... we went to the beach!
Here are some pictures from the Playa Ocotal!

 Genesis 1:9-10
  And Elohim said,
“Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place,
and let the dry land appear.” And it came to be so.
10 And Elohim called the dry land ‘earth,’
and the collection of the waters He called ‘seas.’
And Elohim saw that it was good.

Walking to find the best spot... This sand is very interesting.  It's tan on one side and black on the other.
Briana's ready to play soccer! It was really windy so the ball went EVERYWHERE!
As soon as we got there, we decide to have a little fun with Briana...

She was there for 20 minutes. It was funny...

Reach!!!(She got it eventually...)

Psalms 119:133-135
Establish my footsteps by Your word, And let no wickedness have rule over me.
134 Redeem me from the oppression of man, That I might guard Your orders.
135 Make Your face shine upon Your servant, And teach me Your laws.

My beautiful parents! Yo te amo!
This picture is so amazing!
Psalms 136:1,9
Give thanks to YHVH, for He is good! For His kindness is everlasting.
9 The moon and stars to rule by night, For His kindness is everlasting.
There are over 25 boats just in the one part that we were at.
And to end...
Pretty good way to end... THE END!!
Shalom!

How to be part of the mission

Psalms 41:1-3
Blessed is he who considers the poor; YHVH does deliver him in a day of evil.
Psa 41:2 YHVH does guard him and keep him alive; He is blessed on the earth,
And You do not hand him over To the desire of his enemies.
Psa 41:3 YHVH sustains him on his sickbed; In his weakness on his bed You bring a change.

James 1:27

and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

Dona Nasilda

Dona Blanca

This mom and daughther are some of the indiginous people here that are in need.
The mom is eight months preganant and they have nothing for the baby.
The daughter(on the left) is one of the girls that you blessed with clothing.

We’ve found a great way others can help those in need here in Costa Rica.   Particularly the area we now live in (which is one of the poorer areas in Costa Rica)
We have a shipper who has been very kind and generous and will help us getting the stuff to Costa Rica.  There are also several generous families who live in Florida near the shipper who have volunteered their services.
The plan is to have you guys in the states, whoever wants to help, send items to the families in Florida (thus saving yourselves a LOT of money rather than shipping it to Costa Rica).   Those families are going to repack everything in large boxes (to save on shipping so everything’s together) and will drive the boxes to our shipper once everything is there.
We’ve complied a list of things that are needed here.   If you would like to help, please email me at ourtreasureisinheaven@yahoo.com and I will get you the address to mail items too.
The items do NOT have to be new.   Search garage sales!
Dollar Tree is a GREAT place to stock up on things.

 Clothes-all ages and sizes
modest clothes please
* please see note afterwards*
new women’s underwear (small/medium/large and extra large)
bras for the well-endowed (more coverage please.  The women here wear shirts so low cut it’s shocking.. if you ship the full coverage type bras it would force them to cover a bit more breast to be honest)
men’s long socks for boots
men’s dress socks
new men’s underwear (small/medium)
rubber boots
  children to adult
  both men and women
  any rain gear
  it rains a lot!
women’s flip flops and sandals  (check out the $2 cheap old navy flip flops, etc..   Those run at the cheapest $18+ here and are a 2 hour drive away for people to buy… esp. hard since they do not have cars)
Dollar Store items, etc.
hair ties
nail clippers
toiletries
deodorant
soap
kotex
toothbrushes
toothpaste
any type of tools  (check a dollar tree type store for these)

any kitchen appliances (crockpots, griddles, toaster ovens, etc..)  many of these people do not have a single thing like this, still cook over a fire.
cookie sheets
bread pans
tupperware type items
(3 times the price in Costa Rica)… the cheap dollar store type stuff is great..
doesn’t have to be name brand
Spanish Bibles
Shabbat candle holders & candles, (we are praying for others to start keeping the shabbat and it has begun to happen.. having special items like these to give away would be a huge blessing)
Shabbat cups
Menorah and candles
cookie sheets for Challah
guitar strings and picks
*one of our goals is to “dress the town” *
If you think you’ve seen immodest, come to Costa Rica!   Seriously, modest clothing is a huge need here..Several of the women have taken an interest in the way we dress. Our goal is
to offer every woman and girl a skirt if she is willing to wear them and a top that
actually covers something. Of course it is not only the clothes we are offering but
Abba’s Word as well. Please help us in this.
We would prefer skirts or/and nice pants/jeans that can be made into skirtsMrs. Suzanne McDaniel is willing to make the skirts) additional elastic and thread please
tops and blouses that are modest and offer coverage or can be layered with another top.
The needs are certainly not limited by this list. Really, whatever anyone wants to send. We would
like you to evaluate what you send please. Modest clothing, no short shorts, no Christmas supplies
please or pagan holidays, etc., no graven images, you get the idea. We are trying to teach as we give.
If you would like to share a link to this post, or do up a post on your blog about this it would be very much appreciated as well.   Thank you SO very much for this everyone...   It’s humbling to be in this position to help others and we pray we use this position wisely.
Shalom!

Shalom! We have a new blog!

We have started a new Costa Rican blog! The reason for starting one is because my mom and I wanted to be able to share with you what is going on here, as well as putting it permanent, not just on Facebook or by e-mail.

You may be wondering about our name of the blog. It is a combination of Hebrew and Spanish. The 1st word, L'chaim, is Hebrew. It means, "to life". It is a blessing that the Jews in Israel still do today.

The 2nd and 3rd words are in Spanish. Pura Vida means, "Pure Life". It is a very popular saying here in Costa Rica, and they say it every time they meet someone.

We pray that this blog can be full of YHVH's pure and perfect light and that you may be blessed by everything you read. Blessings!
